Our Pastor

Joel W. Davis

Senior Pastor

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! It is an honor, as well as a privilege, to express my sincere appreciation to the Almighty God and to you, the members of our church family, for the opportunity to serve with you in the building of the Kingdom of God. Within these webpages, you will find information from the many people, events, and information that define Liberty Faith Christian Church. It is because of your faithfulness to God and your commitment to this church that we have been able to experience the blessings that flow in our lives. It is because of your sacrificial giving, spiritual gifts, and natural talents that we have been able to accomplish so much to the Glory of God. I look forward to our evangelistic team and entire church family reaching out to the community in which we’re surrounded by to help bring the vision of our church to pass, which is “to see people delivered and set free in every area of their lives, first spiritually, financially, physically, and emotionally.” I believe with all my heart that “Liberty Faith is the place to be” and now we can share with the world this website for generations to come. On behalf of our church family, please allow me to say, “To God be the glory! For He has done great things!”

Pastor’s Bio

Pastor Joel W. Davis is a native of Bessemer, Alabama, born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joel and Margaret Davis. He has three brothers, one of whom is deceased, and four sisters. In 1973, he married Theresa Barham Davis, the woman whom God chose to walk with him in ministry. This blessed marriage produced three daughters, Terica Murray, LaTonya Pruitt, and Aquilla Jackson. He also has six grandchildren, one of whom is deceased (Daisha Elise Murray): Justin Murray, Endia and Ethan Pruitt, and Laila and Leigha Jackson.

In 1979, Pastor Davis accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his life. A year later, while sitting under the ministry of Pastor Leonard Wood, God called him to preach the gospel. Although he accepted the call in May of 1983, he was ordained and licensed in 1986. Pastor Davis sat and served diligently under Pastor Wood’s leadership for 13 years, and he gives him many honors for equipping him for ministry.

In 1981, Pastor Davis graduated magna cum laude from Pastor Wood’s God Is Love Ministry School. He also studied radiology at Lawson State Community College from 1981 to 1982, where he initially pursued a career as an X-ray technician. He received a diploma in English from The Career Institute, Little Falls, New Jersey, in 1985.

In 1992, he was called to pastor Jeffries Memorial Christian Church where he faithfully served for five years. He founded Liberty Faith Christian Church in 1997 with the God-given vision to “see people of God set free in every area of their lives.” It was here that Pastor Davis retired into full-time ministry after serving 20 years at the Birmingham Police Department. He received numerous commendations for outstanding service during his tenure there.

Pastor Davis received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Ministry from Trinity College of the Bible and Trinity Theological Seminary in Evansville, Indiana. Prior to receiving this degree, he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Theology and an Associate of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary, which was then located in Newburgh, Indiana. He also holds a Master Teacher Certificate from Trinity College.
