Greetings in the name of the Lord! It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Liberty Faith Christian Church. We believe that it is neither by accident nor by chance that you are here, but that you have been guided by the Holy Spirit to be fed at this church. In the book of I Kings 17:3-6, Elijah was instructed by God to a specific brook, where he would be fed and nourished, and all his needs would be met. If this is the place where God desires you to be, rest in knowing that all your needs will be met as you are fed and nourished with the Word of God. Liberty Faith Christian Church is a ministry with a vision-guided and directed by the Spirit of God.
The vision of Liberty Faith Christian Church is to see people liberated and set free in every area of their lives. First spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially; and to preach the word and build character in the people the first year of the ministry. In the second year, God placed a mandate for an all out evangelistic launch. Jesus told his disciples in Luke 5:1-11 and Matthew 4:19 to “launch out into the deep and become fisher of men.” In the third year of the ministry God said, “Take the vision and run with it.”
Once we become liberated in every area of our lives, the Holy Spirit will enable us to live productive lives and equip us fully to change the lives of our family members and all who come in contact with us as the Spirit leads. We promise you that they will never be bound again by the chains of the devil, but be completely liberated by the Word of God. We welcome you and we pray that you be obedient to the direction of the Holy Spirit in fulfilling your part in this vision.
OUR HISTORY
Liberty Faith Christian Church is a ministry born out of a vision guided and directed by the Spirit of God. Under the leadership of Pastor Joel and Theresa Davis, the vision became a reality. On July 26, 1997, a meeting was called at the home of Pastor Joel and Theresa Davis to discuss the vision with those who would follow him as he followed Christ. Liberty Faith Christian Church was the name God gave Pastor Davis for the church. The founding scripture for the Church is derived from 2 Corinthians 3:17– “Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” The first worship service was held at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Homewood, Alabama, on August 10, 1997. The ministry flourished and grew in number as souls were saved and delivered through Sunday morning and Wednesday night services. As time passed, Wednesday night Bible study moved to Bridging the Gap Ministries (Pastor Althea Long) in Fairfield, Alabama. Prior to obtaining the temporary storefront, services were held in two other locations: the Pythian Hall in Lipscomb, Alabama, and the Mary E. Dorsey Center located in the Grasselli Heights community. In December 1998, Liberty Faith moved into the storefront facility located in Fairfield, Alabama. We refurbished the property into a beautiful sanctuary and remained faithfully until April 9, 2000. Through the diligence of the intercessory prayer team and a submissive church body, God blessed the church with its present facility. On April 16, 2000, Liberty Faith entered into their current location at 1328 4th Avenue, SW, Bessemer, Alabama 35022. Truly Liberty Faith is abundantly blessed and continues to receive favor from God as a result of Pastor Joel Davis’s leadership.
